Delhi Police have escalated efforts to locate YouTuber Salman in connection with the violence that occurred during a demolition near the Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque in Turkman Gate. Salman is alleged to have used social media to disrupt peace and incite locals to gather at the site. Additionally, influential figures in the area reportedly encouraged residents to assemble through WhatsApp groups to create unrest and impede administrative and law enforcement operations.
An anti-encroachment drive is currently ongoing near the mosque at Turkman Gate, with debris clearance and maintenance of peace in progress. Security forces have been deployed to ensure order during the operation. Earlier, Delhi Police identified 30 individuals involved in the violence through CCTV footage, police recordings, and viral videos, leading to the arrest of five people for stone pelting during the demolition drive.
Authorities are preparing to summon Samajwadi Party MP Mohibbullah Nadvi for investigation as he was allegedly present at the site before the violence erupted, despite warnings to stay away. The police have detailed the sequence of events in the FIR, from barricading to stone pelting, as they tried to explain the limited scope of the demolition drive. Multiple police teams are conducting raids to apprehend the identified suspects involved in the unrest.
