Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Verma announced the conversion of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s official residence, known as “Sheesh Mahal,” into a state guest house in North Delhi. A new facility named “Rang Mahal” will be constructed on the premises to host government guests and dignitaries. Verma had previously criticized Kejriwal for allegedly overspending public funds on renovating the same residence.
Verma released a video on social media where he likened Kejriwal to an underworld character, calling him “Delhi’s Rehman Dakait.” The video showcased the luxurious amenities installed at Kejriwal’s former official residence. It highlighted extravagant features like a Rs 1.5 crore kitchen, Rs 95 lakh switches, Rs 88 lakh chandelier, and a Rs 28 lakh TV, emphasizing the bungalow’s high monthly electricity bill of Rs 5 lakh.
Accusing Kejriwal of corruption, Verma pointed out the disparity between Kejriwal’s public image and his alleged lavish lifestyle. He criticized Kejriwal for spending exorbitantly on items like silk carpets, bathroom fittings, and marble floors, despite projecting himself as a common man. Verma claimed that Kejriwal’s actions contradicted his earlier statements of refusing official accommodations, revealing a hidden desire for opulence.
