The 10th day of the Rugby Premier League Season 2 saw Delhi Redz clinch a convincing 40-28 win over Kolkata Banga Tigers, shattering the Tigers’ semifinal aspirations at the Ganti Mohana Chandra Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad. Delhi Redz took an early lead with Nygel Amaitsa, Samuel Asati, and Josep Serres scoring, while Hitesh Dagar furthered their dominance in possession and territory.
Kolkata Banga Tigers, fighting to stay in the semifinal race, responded with Vuiviwa Naduvalo’s try before halftime. Despite Serres scoring again for Delhi, Naduvalo’s impressive solo efforts almost brought the Tigers back into contention in the third quarter.
In the final period, Jon Okeyo secured Delhi’s victory, although Naduvalo showcased brilliance once more. Hyderabad Heroes were scheduled to play against Mumbai Dreamers, and Chennai Bulls were set to face Bengaluru Bravehearts in the subsequent matches.
Bengaluru Bravehearts had earlier secured a spot in the semifinals by defeating Kolkata Banga Tigers 26-21 in a league match on the ninth day of the competition. The Bravehearts took an early lead through Zain Davids and Akuila Rokolisoa, with players like Shilton van Wyk, Ngarohi McGarvey, Ganesh Majhi, and Magomederassul Magomedov contributing to their victory.
