The call for Central OBC reservation for the Jat community in eastern Rajasthan has surged once more, with a significant ‘Hunkar Sabha’ set to take place in Bharatpur. Hanuman Beniwal, the National President of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) and MP from Nagaur, will lead the ‘Jat Reservation Hunkar Rally’ at Numaish Ground in Bharatpur, advocating for OBC reservation for Jats in Dholpur, Bharatpur, and Deeg districts.
The Jat Reservation Struggle Committee is orchestrating the rally at Numaish Maidan, anticipating a substantial turnout from Jats in Rajasthan and neighboring states like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. Organizers project that close to one lakh individuals may participate in the event, emphasizing the significance of the cause.
Preparations for the rally include a dome structure, water facilities, medical aid, and ambulance services, ensuring a well-equipped gathering. Through the distribution of ‘peele chawal’ (yellow rice) in villages across Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh, the committee has extended invitations to galvanize community involvement in the movement for Central reservation for Jats.
The persistent demand for Central reservation for Jats in Bharatpur, Dholpur, and Deeg regions has been a longstanding issue. Despite assurances from various governments, community leaders assert that the demand remains unmet. The community, engaged in a prolonged struggle for Central reservation benefits, is gearing up to escalate its efforts, with the Bharatpur rally serving as a pivotal platform to voice concerns and strategize for the future of the reservation movement.
Amid expectations of a substantial turnout, the district administration has bolstered security and monitoring measures for the rally. This gathering is seen as a crucial display of strength by the Jat community, potentially influencing the trajectory of the reservation movement in the region in the upcoming months.
