Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida urged citizens to share fruits with Anganwadi children during special occasions to combat malnutrition in the state. Speaking at a program in Bhubaneswar, she emphasized the importance of starting the battle against malnutrition at home. Parida highlighted the significance of educating mothers at the grassroots level to ensure their children’s health.
She stressed the concept of “localization of nutritious food,” advocating for communities to utilize locally available, nutrient-rich resources instead of processed options. Parida also inaugurated the ‘Panchatatwa Park,’ launched the ‘SUPOSHIT Odisha Mission,’ and initiated the construction of the Subhadra Resource Centre. The park, symbolizing the five elements of nature, includes features like an acupressure path and an open-air gym.
In a unique social initiative, Parida encouraged people to celebrate personal milestones by sharing fruits with local Anganwadi children. The Deputy Chief Minister further announced plans for a modern auditorium and the Subhadra Resource Centre at the State Institute for Women & Children campus. These developments, with an estimated investment of Rs 35.70 crore, aim to serve as a comprehensive facility for capacity building, research, and policy initiatives for women and children.
Parida also inaugurated a two-day ‘State-level Orientation-cum-Capacity Building Workshop’ under the Suposhita Odisha Mission. The workshop’s objective is to empower Anganwadi workers at the grassroots level. Additionally, she revealed an increase in financial allocation under the Malati Devi Prak Vidyalaya Paridhan Yojana to enhance the comfort and dignity of preschool children aged 3 to 6 years.
