Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde chose to fly on a commercial Air India flight instead of a private jet for his trip to Delhi following PM Modi’s fuel conservation plea. Departing from Mumbai, he is set to participate in a two-day review meeting for the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0 organized by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Shinde, known for using private aircraft, decided to travel with the public this time, aligning with eco-friendly practices.
He has been actively implementing green measures, including using an Electric Vehicle, reducing convoy vehicles, and minimizing helicopter trips. By opting for a commercial airline over a private jet, Shinde reaffirmed his commitment to the PM’s call through practical actions. Upon his arrival at Mumbai airport, citizens warmly welcomed him, taking photos and sharing their grievances, before he boarded his flight.
In response to PM Modi’s appeal for fuel conservation, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar has switched to an electric vehicle for daily use and reduced her convoy vehicles. Pawar’s move towards green energy aims to promote environmental sustainability and encourage a responsible lifestyle. She emphasized that every citizen shares the responsibility for fuel conservation and environmental protection, especially during the global energy crisis, highlighting the impact of small efforts.
PM Modi’s call for fuel conservation amid rising global oil prices prompted Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to lead by example. Fadnavis traveled from his official residence to Vidhan Bhavan on a motorcycle and then to Bengaluru in economy class on a commercial flight. This series of actions by government officials reflects a collective effort towards energy efficiency and environmental consciousness.
