Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has congratulated V.D. Satheesan on being appointed as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party and the upcoming Chief Minister of Kerala. Singh praised Satheesan’s selection, calling it a positive move for the party. He highlighted Satheesan’s grassroots leadership and strong support among various demographics, especially the weaker sections of society and minority communities.
V.D. Satheesan, who will be Kerala’s 13th Chief Minister, is known for his performance in the Assembly and organizational skills rather than factional politics. A lawyer by profession, Satheesan entered the Assembly in 2001 and is recognized as a skilled debater within the Congress party. After his selection, Satheesan expressed gratitude to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi for entrusting him with this significant responsibility.
The Congress high command, after much speculation and lobbying, announced V.D. Satheesan as Kerala’s next Chief Minister. Satheesan, who hails from Kochi district and will turn 62 soon, has earned his political standing through his legislative work and commitment to the party. His appointment was confirmed by top Congress leaders Deepadas Munshi, Mukul Wasnik, and Ajay Maken in Delhi.
