Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh has written to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, requesting a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiry into alleged irregularities in recruitment exams by the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (ESB). Singh highlighted technical failures, suspected manipulation in tendering, and concerns for unemployed youths. He emphasized deficiencies in exam conduct and irregularities in contract awards.
Singh mentioned that tenders in 2023 and 2024 identified technically qualified companies for ESB exams, but were later canceled. He alleged changes in eligibility criteria in subsequent tenders, leading to a single firm winning the contract, raising transparency questions. Singh stressed the mental stress, financial losses, and wasted time for millions of candidates due to technical glitches.
The former Chief Minister pointed out that the company managing the exams had faced government action previously, raising concerns about favoritism. Singh called for a CBI or SIT investigation to protect the recruitment system’s credibility. The Employees Selection Board, formerly Vyapam, has faced scrutiny since the Vyapam scam, a major recruitment controversy in India.
