Punjabi actor Diljit Dosanjh, preparing for his new movie ‘Main Vapas Aaunga’, recently joined forces with his ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ colleagues, including Imtiaz Ali, Irshad Kamil, and music maestro A. R. Rahman. This reunion follows Diljit’s absence during the promotions of ‘Border 2’ earlier this year, a significant project featuring Sunny Deol and Suniel Shetty. ‘Main Vapas Aaunga’ marks Diljit’s second collaboration with Imtiaz Ali, offering a period romantic drama set against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition of India.
The upcoming film also features Sharvari, Naseeruddin Shah, and Vedang Raina, exploring themes of love, separation, migration, and memory. It is expected to delve into a romantic tale impacted by historical events, a common motif in stories from the Partition era. Scheduled for release on June 12, 2026, ‘Main Vapas Aaunga’ is a joint venture by Applause Entertainment, Window Seat Films, and Mohit Choudhary, promising a captivating narrative under Imtiaz Ali’s direction and A. R. Rahman’s musical brilliance.
