Director Sudha Kongara has responded to criticism regarding her depiction of Congress leaders in the film ‘Parasakthi,’ emphasizing that she presented them in a positive light. She highlighted the portrayal of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi as one of the country’s greatest leaders ever. Kongara clarified that the film showcased Congress leaders, including Nehru and Gandhi, as democratic and inspirational figures.

In an exclusive interaction, Kongara addressed concerns raised by the Tamil Nadu Youth Congress about the film’s portrayal of its leaders. She defended her depiction by citing Nehru’s leadership qualities and Gandhi’s democratic approach. Kongara praised Gandhi for her dialogue with the protagonist in the film, showcasing her as a great democratic leader who listened to her people.

‘Parasakthi,’ directed by Sudha Kongara, revolves around the anti-Hindi agitation in Tamil Nadu during the 1960s. The film, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sreeleela, also features Ravi Mohan and Atharvaa in significant roles. With music by G V Prakash and cinematography by Ravi K Chandran, the movie was released on January 10 for the Pongal festival.
