The District Employment and Counselling Centre in Udhampur recently organized a day-long entrepreneurship-cum-awareness mela as part of Mission YUVA. The event aimed to encourage self-employment and entrepreneurial skills among women and self-help groups in the region.
In collaboration with the Udhampur district administration, the initiative sought to inform and motivate local women to explore government-sponsored entrepreneurship development programs. The event was inaugurated by Additional District Development Commissioner Vinod Kumar Anand and featured various departmental stalls to raise awareness among participants.
Assistant Director Employment Priyanka Gupta provided a detailed overview of Mission YUVA, emphasizing its objectives and the support available for aspiring entrepreneurs. A beneficiary expressed gratitude for the opportunities created by Mission YUVA, acknowledging the government’s role in empowering individuals.
ADDC Udhampur Jugal Kishore highlighted Udhampur’s leading position in Mission YUVA within the state, emphasizing the program’s focus on providing guidance and opportunities to college and institute students. Mission YUVA aims to enhance entrepreneurship and employment prospects in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly addressing high unemployment rates by equipping youth and women with diverse skill sets.
