Dismissing rumors of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) joining the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), party General Secretary Premalatha Vijayakant clarified that no discussions for an alliance have occurred and no NDA leader has approached them. She emphasized that neither Union Minister Piyush Goyal nor any other NDA representative has made contact with the party directly or over the phone. Regarding Piyush Goyal’s visit to Chennai, Premalatha expressed unawareness of the purpose behind the visit, stating that he had not contacted her. She mentioned being informed through media reports about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Chennai on the 23rd. Additionally, Premalatha disclosed the DMDK’s plans for a statewide campaign from January 24 to February 2, indicating that any decisions related to alliances would be made post the campaign following internal discussions.
