The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is organizing a significant women’s conference in Palladam, Tiruppur district, as part of its pre-election political activities in Tamil Nadu. Expected to attract around 1.5 lakh participants from 39 Assembly constituencies, the event will focus on women’s empowerment and welfare. DMK Deputy General Secretary Kanimozhi will lead the conference, with Chief Minister M.K. Stalin slated to deliver a special speech.
Extensive preparations have been made for the conference, with color-coded identity cards issued to women participants from different districts. Special arrangements, including separate seating for party officials, have been put in place. Despite being in the western region, volunteers from across the state have been mobilized for logistical support.
The event will offer various facilities for participants’ comfort and safety, such as mobile toilets, medical camps, fire safety units, breastfeeding rooms, and continuous water supply. Food arrangements providing three meals daily and a large parking area for over 4,000 vehicles have been organized. Cultural performances like parai drumming, silambam martial arts, and folk music will be part of the program.
A two-wheeler rally with over 100 motorcycles is planned to escort Chief Minister Stalin to the venue, enhancing the event’s visual appeal. The venue will showcase DMK government’s welfare initiatives, including free bus travel for women and monthly assistance schemes. Chief Minister Stalin mentioned that the conference would highlight achievements and future plans, possibly introducing new initiatives for women’s welfare.
