The J&K Anti-Narcotics Task Force reported the arrest of a drug peddler in Jammu city with 18 Kg of poppy straw. The arrest took place during a naka checking operation at Sidhra Panjtirthi link road.
A team of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force intercepted a car at the location based on specific information. Upon searching the vehicle, they discovered over 18 kilograms of a substance resembling poppy straw. The arrested individual, identified as Kirpal Singh, was transporting the contraband from Kashmir to Jammu for illegal distribution.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused intended to distribute the contraband among young people in the area. The arrested individual was caught on the spot, and the vehicle used in the crime was confiscated. An FIR has been filed under the NDPS Act, with ongoing investigations to trace the source and network behind the narcotics operation.
