The Dwarka District Police have apprehended an alleged illicit liquor supplier and confiscated 1,600 quarters of illegal liquor as part of an anti-drug and anti-illicit liquor initiative. The arrested individual, Badshah Khan (28), was found with a significant quantity of illicit liquor in Sector-16A, Kakrola, Dwarka. A total of 32 cartons, each containing 180 ml, were seized during the operation, along with the scooty used for transportation.
The campaign, aimed at combating narcotics and illegal liquor in the national capital, is a top priority for the Dwarka District Police. The arrest of the accused and the recovery of a large quantity of illicit liquor were made by the Special Staff team of Dwarka District Police. The operation was part of a directive from Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Kushal Pal Singh to intensify efforts against drug trafficking and illicit liquor distribution.
Under the leadership of Inspector Kamlesh Kumar and ACP (Operations) Subhash Malik, the Special Staff team conducted surveillance on suspected liquor suppliers, set up traps at various locations, and utilized informants to monitor suspicious activities. The breakthrough occurred following specific information received by Head Constable Pardeep on an individual supplying illicit liquor on a scooty. A raiding team intercepted the accused near Chander Shekhar Azad Enclave, JJ Colony, Sector-16A, Dwarka, leading to the recovery of 100 quarters of illicit liquor.
Further investigations are ongoing to determine the involvement of the house owner and trace the origins of the illicit liquor. The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Delhi Excise Act and continue their efforts to crack down on illegal liquor suppliers in the district.
