Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson admitted to taking Robin Williams’ dice from the set of the upcoming film ‘Jumanji: Open World’ and later denying having it. Johnson, known for his role as Dr. Xander ‘Smolder’ Bravestone, had previously shared that the dice he wore paid tribute to Williams, who used it in the original 1995 Jumanji movie. Despite taking the prop home, Johnson was asked by crew members to return it, leading him to evade the situation.
In addition to the dice, Johnson also revealed taking Maui’s magical fishhook from the film ‘Moana,’ which had multiple versions to avoid any repercussions. Earlier this year, Johnson emotionally honored Robin Williams during an event, acknowledging the late actor’s significant role in the Jumanji franchise’s inception. He highlighted the symbolic gesture in the new movie as a tribute to Williams, emphasizing the impact the legendary actor had on the film series.
During the filming of ‘Jumanji: Open World,’ Johnson showcased an “Easter egg” reference to Robin Williams, incorporating the original dice from the first Jumanji movie. This gesture was meant as a sign of respect and admiration for Williams and his legacy in initiating the Jumanji franchise. Johnson’s acknowledgment and tribute to Williams reflect the deep appreciation he holds for the late actor’s contribution to the film industry.
