The e-Jagriti platform, initiated by the Department of Consumer Affairs, has been honored with the Silver Award for “Category I-Government Process Re-engineering by Use of Technology for Digital Transformation” at the National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) 2026. Launched on January 1, 2025, e-Jagriti integrates four legacy applications into a single AI-driven, paperless system, streamlining consumer grievance redressal processes.
Since its inception, e-Jagriti has enabled the filing of over 2.29 lakh consumer cases and the resolution of more than 2.07 lakh cases, achieving an impressive disposal rate of 90.75%. This platform allows consumers to seek justice from any location in India or abroad, marking a significant advancement in consumer service accessibility and efficiency.
The accolade underscores the platform’s pivotal role in revolutionizing consumer grievance redressal through technology-oriented, citizen-centric service delivery. The rigorous evaluation process, which involved 341 nominations from Union Ministries, Departments, and state governments, highlights the transformative impact of e-Jagriti in enhancing consumer rights protection and accessibility to justice.
During the fiscal year 2025-26, consumer commissions exhibited notable performance enhancements, with a substantial increase in case disposals and virtual hearing engagements. Notably, the disposal rate surged to 92.3%, reflecting a significant improvement compared to the previous fiscal year. The platform’s digital infrastructure has facilitated seamless online complaint filing, real-time case tracking, and virtual hearing participation, offering a convenient and efficient mechanism for consumers to engage with the grievance redressal process.
