An egg was thrown at Trinamool Congress MLA Kunal Ghosh outside former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s residence in Kolkata’s Kalighat area. Ghosh, a Beleghata Trinamool MLA, was leaving after a meeting when the incident occurred. He encountered a person holding an egg on the street, leading to the egg being thrown at him.
The alleged attacker, identifying himself as Chandan, stated that he had been waiting for Kunal Ghosh. Chandan mentioned various allegations against Ghosh and threw the egg as a form of protest. He claimed to be a resident of the Kalighat area in south Kolkata.
Kunal Ghosh, recounting the incident, mentioned that he had just left a meeting at Mamata Banerjee’s residence with senior leaders when the egg was thrown. Ghosh clarified that as he was leaving, media representatives approached him for questions, and it was then that the egg was thrown at him.
Ghosh, while acknowledging the incident, refrained from labeling it as an expression of public anger. He described it as an act of vandalism, emphasizing the need for security measures. As Ghosh departed the scene, some of the alleged attackers remained nearby, prompting him to make a lighthearted remark about the remaining eggs.
