The Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab, Anindita Mitra, conducted a meeting with political party representatives to emphasize the importance of appointing booth-level agents for the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Mitra highlighted the critical role these agents would play in ensuring transparency and efficiency throughout the revision process. She urged parties to promptly appoint these agents to facilitate training and information sharing.
During the meeting, Mitra also urged political parties to expedite the appointment process of booth-level agent-I. The office of the Chief Electoral Officer will maintain continuous coordination with political parties throughout the Special Intensive Revision process. Booth-level officers will conduct door-to-door visits from June 25 to July 24 to assist in filling voter forms.
The election machinery, including booth-level officers, supervisors, Electoral Registration Officers, and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, has been deployed for the revision exercise. Training for booth-level officers and other preparatory arrangements will be conducted from June 15 to 24. The objective of the exercise is to ensure the inclusion of eligible citizens in the electoral rolls and the removal of ineligible persons.
