England secured their place in the Super 8s of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup with a hard-fought 24-run victory over Italy at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Chasing a target of 203, Italy faced early setbacks as Jofra Archer’s quick strikes put them on the back foot at 1/2.

Italy’s Justin Mosca and Ben Manenti led a remarkable recovery, with Manenti’s aggressive batting style propelling him to a rapid half-century off just 22 balls. Despite their efforts, crucial breakthroughs by England’s Will Jacks and Sam Curran shifted the momentum back in England’s favor.

Grant Stewart’s late assault for Italy was not enough as England’s disciplined bowling, led by Overton and Curran, sealed the victory. Italy’s fearless display, including 13 sixes, garnered praise despite falling short.
