External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar unveiled the website, theme, and logo for BRICS 2026, set to occur during India’s chairship. This event saw the presence of Union Ministers of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita and Kirti Vardhan Singh.
BRICS comprises eleven major emerging markets and developing countries, including Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates. It serves as a platform for global and regional cooperation on significant political and economic matters.
The logo for India’s BRICS chairship combines tradition with modernity, showcasing the vibrant colors of all member countries. The design symbolizes unity, with the “Namaste” gesture at the center representing India’s values of warmth, respect, and collaboration.
The website’s purpose is to offer updates on BRICS initiatives and events under India’s Presidency. The theme for India’s BRICS chairship is ‘Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability,’ aligning with a people-centric approach advocated by the Prime Minister.
EAM Jaishankar emphasized that BRICS has evolved into a crucial platform for cooperation among emerging markets and developing economies. He highlighted the forum’s role in addressing global challenges through dialogue, cooperation, and practical responses, guided by a humanity-first and people-centric approach.
India’s chairship theme underscores the importance of cooperation among BRICS members to tackle shared challenges inclusively. The four key priorities of India’s chairship—Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability—aim to provide a balanced framework across political, economic, and cultural exchanges.
