In a tragic incident in Bengaluru’s Kottigepalya area near the Ayyappa Temple, three family members were found dead, suspected to have been murdered by a 34-year-old man who later took his own life. The victims include the man’s mother, grandmother, and brother-in-law.
The accused, identified as Prashant, a driver, was reportedly dealing with mental health issues and depression. It is believed that he used a sharp weapon to attack his family before hanging himself. The deceased individuals were Mangalamma, Prashant’s mother who worked in a garment factory, Nanjamma, his grandmother who was a sweeper, and Satish, his unmarried brother-in-law who worked as a plumber.
The tragic event is thought to have occurred during the night. After the alleged attacks, Prashant tried to escape but was caught by locals and confined in the house where he later died by suicide. Police have initiated an investigation to determine the motive behind the crime, interviewing neighbors, residents, and relatives. The exact circumstances leading to the incident are still under investigation.
On a previous occasion on June 22, Bengaluru police arrested a woman named Shwetha and her partner Kenneth for the triple murder of her parents and sister in Seegehalli, KR Puram. The killings were reportedly triggered by intense family disputes over the couple’s relationship and the daughter’s financial troubles.
