The family of Twisha Sharma met Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to request a thorough investigation into her alleged suicide. They expressed concerns about the circumstances surrounding the 24-year-old woman’s death at her matrimonial home. Chief Minister Yadav assured them of full government support and mentioned plans to involve the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the case.
Twisha Sharma’s parents, who live in Greater Noida’s Gaur City-2 township, are awaiting decisions on shifting her remains to Delhi and a possible second post-mortem examination. Twisha was discovered dead at her matrimonial home in Bhopal on May 12, with the police reporting that she was found hanging from a gymnastic ring rope on the terrace.
The post-mortem examination at AIIMS Bhopal determined the cause of death as “antemortem hanging by ligature.” Doctors noted various injuries on her body, including ligature marks on the neck, blunt-force injuries, and signs of asphyxia. The police mentioned findings such as Tardieu’s spots in the lungs, indicative of asphyxiation, and congestion in the brain, lungs, and stomach lining.
