Claiming that Rajasthan is witnessing a historic farmers’ movement, Todabhim MLA Ramkesh Meena stated that the ongoing Khandip Mahapanchayat for the release of Panchna Dam water has become a significant statewide issue. Addressing thousands of farmers, Meena criticized the state government for allegedly trying to weaken the movement by dividing communities.

The protest, now in its 19th day, has garnered immense support, with Members of Parliament, MLAs, and public representatives openly endorsing the cause. The gathering, attended by farmers from various villages, saw demands for the immediate release of water into the command area canals.

Former MLA Lakhan Singh Meena emphasized the continuation of the struggle until justice is served for farmers, stressing that the fight for farmers’ rights will persist until water from the Panchna Dam is released. MP Harishchandra Meena assured farmers of his support, highlighting that the demand is based on justice and court-backed decisions.

The Panchna Command Area Development Struggle Committee announced a planned convoy of thousands of farmers and supporters from across the region to arrive on June 24. As the movement gains momentum, the protesters at Khandip Mahapanchayat vow to escalate their agitation if the government does not release water by June 27.
