A tragic wave of grief has struck Bihar as two separate road accidents resulted in the deaths of four young men. In Patna district, Megha Paswan (30) and Alok Kumar (28) lost their lives near the Faridpura–Dariyapur bridge on the Naubatpur–Bikram Son Canal road late on Sunday night. They were hit by a speeding vehicle while returning home after delivering food for a wedding, leading to their immediate demise. Efforts are underway to locate the driver who fled the scene, with residents urging swift action and compensation for the victims’ families.
In a separate incident on the Samastipur–Rosera road, Kanhaiya Kumar and Mithun Kumar were killed when a bus rear-ended their motorcycle near Bishanpur Chowk on Monday morning. Another youth, Rakesh Kumar, sustained severe injuries and is receiving treatment at Sadar Hospital. The trio had been returning from a wedding when the fatal collision occurred, prompting police to seize the bus, initiate legal proceedings, and continue investigations. These tragic events have reignited concerns over reckless driving, nighttime road safety, and the need for enhanced enforcement on Bihar’s highways and rural roads.
