FC Barcelona has officially submitted a bid and complete dossier to UEFA to host the 2029 UEFA Champions League final. The proposal was developed in partnership with Barcelona City Council, the Government of Catalonia, and with the backing of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). The submission includes all technical, contractual, and institutional requirements as well as guarantees showcasing the organizational capabilities of the Spotify Camp Nou and Barcelona.
The formal bidding process concludes with the submission of the dossier, leaving the decision in UEFA’s hands. UEFA will now evaluate the proposals to determine the venue for the 2029 Champions League final. The announcement of the host city is expected in the last quarter of this year.
Barcelona’s bid emphasizes the city’s experience in hosting major international events and the Camp Nou’s status as a top-class stadium. The Camp Nou, recognized by UEFA as a top-category stadium and the largest in Europe by capacity, is undergoing modernization to become a cutting-edge sporting venue suitable for hosting a prestigious event like the UEFA Champions League final.
Budapest recently hosted the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League final at the Puskas Arena, where Paris Saint-Germain faced Arsenal in a historic match. This marked Hungary’s first time hosting a European Cup final, showcasing the significance of such events on a global scale.
