A female doctor, Dr. Anuja Kulkarni, was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances at Jagjivan Ram Hospital in Mumbai Central. Dr. Kulkarni, who worked in the hospital’s ENT department, failed to show up for her scheduled surgeries, prompting concern among colleagues. The Tardeo Police have initiated an investigation under the Accidental Death Report (ADR) category.
Hospital authorities and Mumbai Police revealed that Dr. Kulkarni had multiple surgeries planned for the day but did not appear at the operation theatre as expected. Despite attempts to reach her, she did not respond to calls. A junior doctor found her lifeless in her room on the fourth floor after noticing her absence and lack of response.
Upon confirmation of her death by senior doctors, the police were informed, and a team conducted an inspection at the hospital. The room where Dr. Kulkarni was discovered was locked from the inside, adding complexity to the circumstances. The police have obtained CCTV footage from the hospital for further investigation.
The body was sent for a post-mortem examination at JJ Hospital to determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are exploring all possible angles in this tragic incident.
