An FIR was lodged at the Tumakuru City Police Station against three KRS party workers for causing a disturbance during a public event attended by Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara. The incident occurred at the Central Library auditorium in Tumakuru during a grievance redressal program led by the minister. The accused individuals, including KRS State Vice President K.S. Somasundar, were identified as the disruptors.
The complaint was filed by PSI M.N. Manjula of the Tumakuru City Police Station. The accused workers, namely K.S. Somasundar, Mallikarjun Bhattarahalli, and Gnana Sindhu Soumya, face charges under various sections of the law, including wrongful restraint and assault on a public servant. The police intervened when the workers approached the minister to submit a petition, leading to their removal from the venue.
As the Home Minister was leaving the stage after the event, the KRS workers tried to hand him a petition, with one of them recording a video on a mobile phone. The minister objected to the recording, prompting police intervention. The workers were then taken into custody for disrupting the orderly conduct of the program.
The accused KRS workers allegedly disregarded the queue system set up for men and women attending the event, causing a commotion. They reportedly insisted on meeting the minister directly, ignoring police instructions. The complaint filed by PSI Manjula highlighted instances where the accused obstructed official duties, verbally abused officials, and engaged in provocative behavior.
