A fire erupted on the second floor of the Karkardooma Court complex in New Delhi early on Sunday morning. The Delhi Fire Services received a call around 5:22 a.m. and dispatched eight fire tenders to the scene. After about half an hour, the fire was successfully brought under control by Divisional Officer Mukesh Verma.
No casualties, property damage, or injuries were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the source. Advocate Rajendra Pal mentioned that the fire damaged some old records and files near a canteen on the second floor.
Following a recent deadly fire in Malviya Nagar, where 21 lives were lost, including 13 foreigners, authorities have intensified safety checks in Delhi. The hotel involved in the Malviya Nagar fire was found to be operating without necessary approvals and safety measures. A joint task force has been formed to inspect commercial establishments and lodging facilities for compliance with safety regulations.
Forensic examinations are being conducted to gather evidence and determine if negligence or regulatory violations played a role in the tragic fire incidents. Investigations are ongoing, with a focus on ensuring safety compliance and preventing future mishaps.
