A fire erupted in an empty airconditioned coach of the Hyderabad-Jaipur Special Train at Nampally Railway Station in Hyderabad. The incident occurred just before the train’s scheduled departure time. Railway staff noticed smoke coming from the coach and promptly alerted the fire services department.
Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) personnel, along with firefighting teams, quickly responded to the scene and successfully controlled the fire. Three fire engines were deployed to extinguish the blaze. The incident caused panic among passengers present at the station.
According to the South Central Railway (SCR) spokesman, the fire was limited to the empty coach, with no passengers inside. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and the fire was swiftly brought under control. The affected coaches, B1 and B2, were detached for further assessment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, while assessing the extent of the damage caused. Despite the incident, there were no significant disruptions to train operations at the station. In a separate incident, a fire broke out in a warehouse storing decoration materials near Kongarkalan village in Adibatla, on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
