The inaugural ‘Shri Ram Katha’ at Gujarat Lok Bhavan in Gandhinagar began on Sunday, kicking off a week-long religious and cultural event lasting until June 28. Led by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, the gathering included senior political figures, officials, and a large audience. Renowned storyteller Acharya Kuldeep Maharaj highlighted the significance of Ram Katha, delving into its philosophical roots and the virtues embodied by Lord Shri Ram.
Governor Acharya Devvrat emphasized that Shri Ram’s life symbolizes not just devotion but also an “art of living,” offering societal role models. He stressed Lord Ram’s exemplary roles as a son, brother, husband, and ruler dedicated to public welfare. The Governor encouraged attendees to not only listen but also internalize the Katha’s teachings for personal growth and alleviating human suffering.
Praising Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s commitment to public service, Governor Devvrat commended his simplicity and direct engagement with citizens. He lauded the Chief Minister’s recent actions like traveling by train, staying at a village school, and dining with a Scheduled Caste family as examples of public connection. The ongoing Katha, running daily until June 28, aims to imbibe Indian cultural and Vedic traditions, providing a continuous enriching experience for participants.
