Former Army Chief General M.M. Naravane has spoken out regarding the ongoing dispute surrounding his unreleased memoir on the 2020 Galwan clash between India and China. In a social media post, General Naravane shared an update on his book titled ‘Four Stars of Destiny,’ which has been at the center of a government-Opposition standoff causing disruptions in parliamentary proceedings.

The controversy escalated as Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi contested the Ministry of Defence’s review status of the book, claiming it was already in the public domain and available on platforms like Amazon. Penguin Random House, the book’s publisher, clarified that the book had not been published or distributed in any form, warning against unauthorized dissemination.

General Naravane’s brief statement on the book’s status aims to clarify the situation and put an end to the controversy sparked by allegations of the book containing uncomfortable truths and the government’s alleged interference in its release.

Penguin emphasized that no copies of the book had been officially released, whether in print or digital format, and any unauthorized circulation would violate their copyright.
