Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has commended the leadership skills of Smriti Mandhana, the captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women and a prominent Indian batter. Karthik lauded Mandhana’s calm demeanor and compared her leadership style to that of former Indian captain MS Dhoni.
Karthik expressed admiration for Mandhana, highlighting not only her batting prowess but also her composed leadership approach. He noted her ability to understand match situations intuitively, giving her team the freedom to perform while providing stability during uncertain moments. Karthik drew parallels between Mandhana and Dhoni, emphasizing their shared leadership attributes.
Mandhana, under whose captaincy RCB-W triumphed in the WPL 2026 season, led the team to their second title victory by defeating Delhi Capitals in the final. She excelled as a top run-scorer, guiding RCB to a historic successful run chase in the final, securing a six-wicket win.
Mandhana, who also served as the vice-captain of the Indian team that clinched the ICC Women’s World Cup last year, played a pivotal role by scoring 434 runs and contributing significantly to the team’s championship success.
