Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai expressed concerns about the state’s financial situation, urging Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to provide a detailed report on the financial status inherited from the previous government. Bommai highlighted allegations of corruption related to pending bills in North Karnataka amounting to Rs 23,000 crore.
He questioned the government’s approach to addressing these issues and criticized the lack of clarity on financial reforms. Bommai emphasized the need for transparency, urging the Chief Minister to disclose information on borrowings, expenditures, and fiscal strategies from the previous administration.
Bommai also raised issues regarding the allocation of funds, emphasizing that a significant portion of the budget is allocated to obligatory expenses rather than developmental projects. He called for a clear plan to improve the state’s fiscal conditions and ensure effective governance.
