Trinamool Congress leader Mohammed Ajmal Siddique has resigned from all party positions, including State Secretary (Minority Cell), and from the primary membership of the party. In a letter to TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, Siddique mentioned his dedication to the party but cited personal reasons and dissatisfaction with the party’s current environment as factors for his decision.
Siddique expressed that despite his commitment and service under Mamata Banerjee’s leadership, he could no longer continue his association with the party. He highlighted concerns about the party’s functioning, stating that many hardworking members felt neglected and lacked the respect they deserved. Siddique also criticized the diminishing democratic spirit within the party, leading to frustration among loyal workers.
The former State Secretary (Minority Cell) specifically mentioned challenges working under the leadership of General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee. Siddique noted a lack of proper consultation with party workers and a concentration of power that hindered effective responsibilities. He concluded his letter expressing gratitude for the opportunities given to him during his tenure.
