Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai has called on global leaders to intervene promptly and halt the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran to prevent further devastation. Bommai, speaking in Bengaluru, expressed deep apprehension over the escalating hostilities, emphasizing the critical need for immediate action to avert a crisis. He highlighted the involvement of the United States in supporting Israel’s actions, underscoring the volatile nature of the situation.
The ex-CM noted the significance of the Middle East for global economic and cultural stability, citing historical conflicts in the region. Bommai pointed out that the current strife is fueled by issues related to petroleum and religion, with the US seeking to assert dominance over oil resources. He emphasized the urgency for world leaders to address the escalating tensions and prevent a potential catastrophe.
Responding to concerns about a possible third world war, Bommai highlighted China and Russia’s strategic observation of the conflict without direct involvement. Addressing reports of stranded Kannadigas in the UAE, the MP commended PM Narendra Modi’s leadership in ensuring the safe evacuation of Indians during international crises. Bommai assured that necessary actions would be taken once the situation stabilizes, highlighting the government’s commitment to safeguarding its citizens abroad. He emphasized the need for coordinated efforts with embassies to provide essential support to affected individuals.
