Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, strongly criticized the Union Budget, labeling it as “deeply disappointing” for the state. Gehlot expressed dismay over Rajasthan not being mentioned in the budget speech, highlighting what he called a “discriminatory” stance by the Central government towards the state.
Gehlot pointed out the exclusion of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) from the budget, a critical initiative addressing water and irrigation requirements in multiple districts. He criticized the lack of new railway lines, metro projects, and infrastructure developments for Rajasthan, essential for job creation and economic progress.
The former CM raised concerns about the budget’s failure to offer substantial relief to the underprivileged, laborers, farmers, and the unorganized sector grappling with inflation and unemployment. Gehlot criticized the budget for neglecting the common people’s needs and accused the government of not fulfilling Rajasthan’s development priorities.
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also criticized the government for overlooking crucial national issues and the concerns of the common man.
