Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot responded firmly to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s comments, clarifying that his son never lived at the official Chief Minister’s residence but in a rented house independently. Gehlot advised Sharma to focus on governance rather than delving into Congress party’s internal affairs. He emphasized that internal party matters should not concern the Chief Minister and urged him to concentrate on his government’s issues.
In response to CM Sharma’s remarks about Gehlot’s diminishing influence, Gehlot dismissed the criticism and questioned the government’s handling of opposition queries. He expressed dissatisfaction with the unrelated responses provided by the government to specific questions raised by the opposition. Gehlot also criticized the Chief Minister’s advisory team, suggesting that their guidance might be detrimental to the government’s credibility.
Gehlot clarified his stance on family involvement in politics, stating that he never opposed family members participating in politics but emphasized keeping them away from government operations. He highlighted the importance of family members entering politics to benefit from senior leaders’ experience and strengthen the next generation. Additionally, Gehlot raised concerns about governance issues such as delays in Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) elections and the absence of student union elections in educational institutions.
Urging the Chief Minister to take decisive action, Gehlot advised Sharma to assume control, streamline the administration, and reassess his advisory team. He emphasized the need for the government to address public concerns promptly and effectively.
