Former West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose announced that his resignation was a deliberate choice, with the reasons to be disclosed later. Bose, who arrived in Kolkata, mentioned he would return to cast his vote in the state. Having recently shifted his voting base to West Bengal, he emphasized the confidentiality of his resignation motives until the appropriate time.
Bose refrained from commenting directly on President Droupadi Murmu’s concerns about protocol breaches in the state. Acknowledging the President’s experience and dignity, Bose declined to offer a personal opinion on her remarks. He also chose not to discuss the state administration, citing his former role as Governor.
Following his resignation last week, Bose handed his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu in Delhi. The sudden move occurred just before the state’s Assembly polls, leading to the appointment of Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi as his successor. The development was communicated to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
