Former West Bengal Minister Sujit Bose, along with his son Samudra Bose, appeared before Enforcement Directorate (ED) officers at the CGO Complex office in Kolkata regarding a municipal recruitment corruption case. Sujit Bose had received multiple notices from the ED on April 6, the day of filing nomination papers for the Assembly election, and later approached the Calcutta High Court for more time due to election commitments.
Trinamool sources stated that Sujit Bose, the Bidhannagar Trinamool candidate, adhered to the court’s directive and avoided ED’s presence during the elections. However, post-elections, on May 1, he cooperated with ED investigators at the Salt Lake CGO Complex. Notably, Sujit Bose and his family had been summoned by the ED multiple times before the Assembly elections in connection with the corruption case.
The ED, accompanied by central forces, conducted raids at various locations, including the minister’s residence, office, and his son’s restaurant near VIP Road. Sujit Bose had criticized the ED’s actions during the elections, alleging a conspiracy orchestrated by the Election Commission and the ED. Despite his previous statements, he refrained from commenting further before his recent appearance at the ED office.
