Four candidates representing major political parties submitted their nomination papers for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu. The nominations were filed to fill six vacant seats in the state. Among the candidates were DMK leaders Tiruchi Siva and J. Constandine Ravindran, AIADMK nominee M. Thambi Durai, and PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss.
The candidates handed in their nomination papers at the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Secretariat in Chennai. Notable figures present during the filing included DMK president and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, and other senior party leaders.
Tiruchi Siva filed his nomination in the presence of key political figures from the DMK, including M.K. Stalin and T.R. Baalu. Similarly, J. Constandine Ravindran, the DMK nominee, submitted his papers in the company of party leaders like Stalin and K. Pitchandi.
From the opposition side, AIADMK candidate M. Thambi Durai and PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss also filed their nominations. Thambi Durai, a former Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha, submitted his papers alongside AIADMK leaders, while Anbumani Ramadoss, supported by the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), filed his nomination in the presence of key party members.
