Four individuals lost their lives in a tragic incident on the Bathinda-Bikaner National Highway in Punjab’s Bathinda district. The accident occurred when a vehicle carrying pilgrims from Rajasthan collided with a truck. Eight others sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at AIIMS, Bathinda.
The devotees were traveling in a van when the collision happened, causing severe damage to the vehicle. Upon receiving information, the police promptly arrived at the scene and transported the injured to the hospital for medical care. The bodies of the deceased were taken for post-mortem examinations.
Sandeep Singh from Sahara Jan Seva Sanstha reported that the accident involved a ‘Traveller’ van and a stationary trailer, resulting in four immediate fatalities and several injuries. While three bodies were sent to the Civil Hospital, one was taken to AIIMS, Bathinda for further procedures.
Dr. Lavdeep Singh, an emergency medical officer, confirmed that all the individuals involved in the accident were residents of Barmer district in Rajasthan. The tragic incident involved a group of people, including family members and friends, who were en route to the Amarnath Yatra. The deceased individuals, including a middle-aged man and a young woman, were part of different families from Barmer.
