Four police personnel, including an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), faced suspension due to a security breach at the Jabalpur bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The incident occurred when a man, identified as Dayashankar Pandey, entered the courtroom with a foetus in his bag through gate number-6. Pandey, a resident of Rewa district, placed the foetus on the courtroom dais, seeking justice after his wife’s miscarriage.
The Registrar General’s office at the Madhya Pradesh High Court confirmed the incident in Justice Himanshu Joshi’s courtroom. The shocking episode prompted immediate action from the court’s security staff. Jabalpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Sampat Upadhyay suspended four policemen, including ASI Munna Ahirwar, for the security lapse at gate number-6. The suspended officers also included Head Constable Brahmadutt Khatri, Head Constable Arun Upadhyay, and Constable Pratik Sonkar, all responsible for court security.
Dayashankar Pandey had lodged a petition in the High Court regarding police inaction after multiple attacks on his family in Gurh town, Rewa district. Alleging no response to his complaints, Pandey resorted to legal action, leading to the unprecedented courtroom incident.
