Fresher hiring intent in India’s marketing and advertising sector rose significantly to 62% in the first half of 2026 from 11% in the previous year, according to a report by TeamLease EdTech. The demand is shifting towards roles focused on analytics, AI, and digital operations.
The report highlighted a steady increase in the sector’s hiring intent over the past two years, with percentages climbing from 6% in H1 2024 to 67% in H2 2025. There is a growing need for digitally skilled talent as brands invest more in digital advertising and performance-driven campaigns.
Employers are now seeking candidates for roles like Digital Campaign Analyst, AI Marketing Associate, Ads Operations Executive, and Market Research Assistant. Traditional hiring practices are evolving towards data-oriented and technology-enabled functions to meet industry demands.
Founder & CEO of TeamLease EdTech, Shantanu Rooj, emphasized the importance of candidates having skills in campaign analytics, marketing automation, and ad operations. The report also forecasts India’s digital advertising market to reach Rs 1.12 lakh crore by 2025, further boosting the demand for skilled marketing professionals.
Cities like Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai are witnessing high demand for various marketing roles, reflecting the industry’s shift towards digital and performance-driven strategies.
