The much-anticipated film ‘Gatta Kusthi 2’, directed by Chella Ayyavu and starring Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi, is set to hit screens on July 3 this year. Vishnu Vishal, who is also a producer of the film, announced the release date on social media, promising a great entertainment experience in theaters. The shooting for the movie is almost complete, with just a few days of patchwork remaining, according to sources close to the production team.
The sequel to the blockbuster ‘Gatta Kusthi’ has been shot in various locations including Chennai, Ambasamudram, Pollachi in Tamil Nadu, and Palakkad in Kerala. It retains the original lead pair and is a joint production of Vishnu Vishal Studioz and Vels Film International. The film, which started production with a traditional pooja ceremony last year, has generated significant buzz among fans, especially after a viral promo video release featuring key cast members.
Continuing in the same universe as its predecessor, ‘Gatta Kusthi 2’ is expected to blend sports drama with humor, addressing everyday issues in a light-hearted manner. The sequel will feature Vishnu Vishal, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Karunas, Kali Venkat, Munishkanth, and Gajaraj reprising their roles, with the addition of actor Karunakaran in a pivotal part. The movie, helmed by Chella Ayyavu, boasts cinematography by K M Bhaskaran, music by Sean Roldan, and choreography by Murugan for stunts and Baba Bhaskar for dances.
