A significant amount of gold jewelry, valued at more than Rs 4.39 crore, was discovered at the residence of Nadia Zilla Parishad member and Trinamool Congress leader Tina Bhowmik Saha. Following this find, Tina Bhowmik Saha and her husband have gone missing, as reported by the police.
Tina Bhowmik Saha, known to be a close associate of arrested Trinamool Congress leader Sabyasachi Dutta, was not present at her residence during the police search that took place from Monday night to Wednesday evening in Tehatta, Nadia district. Authorities also searched the homes of her parents and in-laws.
Neighbors mentioned seeing the couple leaving in their car, sparking speculation on whether they were aware of the search operation and chose not to return home. It is suspected that the couple may have gone into hiding following the recovery of the substantial amount of gold jewelry.
Bidhannagar South Police Station officials have summoned Tina Bhowmik Saha and her husband for questioning. The police action was prompted by information provided by the arrested former Mayor of Bidhannagar, Sabyasachi Dutta, leading to the recovery of the gold jewelry at Tina Bhowmik Saha’s residence.
