The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has given the green light to a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, appointing 13 senior IAS and IDAS officers as Secretaries to the Government of India. Among the changes, Shri Katikithala Srinivas will now serve as Secretary for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, while Shri Vineet Joshi will transition to Secretary for the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
Shri Naresh Pal Gangwar has been moved from Secretary of the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying to Secretary of the Department of Higher Education. Additionally, Shri Piyush Goyal, former Secretary of the Ministry of Mines, will now hold the position of Secretary General at the National Human Rights Commission.
Other notable appointments include Shri Sushil Kumar Lohani as Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ms. Archana Varma as Secretary for the Department of Official Language, and Shri B. Rajender as Director of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration. The reshuffle aims to ensure smooth transitions as several senior officers are set to retire soon.
