The government conducted an outreach program in New Delhi to boost financial literacy and raise awareness about the newly-introduced Income Tax Act, 2025. Pallavi Agarwal, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemptions), highlighted the Act’s key features, aiming to simplify procedures and enhance transparency through technology-driven processes in line with “Viksit Bharat 2047.”
The program saw participation from over 80 schools in the Delhi–NCR region, along with trustees and officials linked to educational institutions. This initiative showcases the Income Tax Department’s dedication to engaging stakeholders, disseminating tax reforms, and fostering a transparent and taxpayer-friendly tax system.
An inter-school quiz competition was organized for students of Classes IX to XII to encourage student involvement. Winning teams were honored with awards and Certificates of Merit, promoting enthusiasm and knowledge among participants.
