Governor Haribhau Bagde has urged the Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute in Jaipur to lead in creating instruments for testing food grains and vegetables for harmful substances. He emphasized the importance of using science and technology to ensure food safety by accurately detecting toxins. Bagde highlighted India’s historical scientific contributions and stressed the need to blend modern advancements with traditional knowledge.
Bagde, speaking at an event on National Technology Day, underscored the significance of technological innovations in detecting food adulteration and combating substance abuse. He referenced India’s ancient scientific achievements in fields like mathematics, astronomy, and Ayurveda. The Governor also emphasized the importance of moral values and character building alongside scientific progress.
India’s expertise in metallurgy and ancient color technology were also mentioned by Bagde. He noted the country’s unique scientific observations, such as the ‘Hansa Test’ for water adulteration in milk. The Governor highlighted the need to enhance the intellectual capabilities of the youth, quoting Maharishi Aurobindo on the importance of combining scientific knowledge with ethical values.
During the event, the Governor unveiled the souvenir for the “Rajasthan Science Festival 2026” and inspected equipment at the research institute’s laboratory. Vijnana Bharati Secretary Meghendra Sharma discussed scientific achievements and environmental conservation efforts. The organization’s initiatives in planting saplings and promoting science for environmental protection were also highlighted.
