Great Britain secured a spot in the Davis Cup Qualifiers 2nd Round by defeating Norway 3-0 in Oslo. Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool’s 6-2 2-6 7-6(5) victory in the doubles match sealed the win. The British team will now face either Ecuador or Australia in the next round, aiming for a spot in the Final 8 in November.

Leon Smith’s team efficiently overcame a depleted Norwegian side to advance, with the absence of world No. 12 Casper Ruud impacting Norway’s performance. Cash and Glasspool, the top-ranked doubles team, faced a tough challenge from the Norwegian duo of Nicolai Budkov Kjaer and Viktor Durasovic.

The British No. 1, Jack Draper, marked his return to the court impressively by defeating Durasovic 6-2, 6-2. Cam Norrie also contributed to the victory with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Nicolai Budkov Kjaer. With a comfortable lead going into day two, Great Britain needed just one more win to secure their place in the next round.

Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool, the top ATP Tour doubles team from last year, clinched the victory for Great Britain in a tense tie-break. The British duo’s 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(5) win sealed the deal, ensuring their progression to the Davis Cup Qualifiers 2nd Round. Jacob Fearnley further solidified the win for Britain by defeating Budkov Kjaer in the final rubber.
